In getCITED, the term INSTITUTION includes universities/colleges, book sellers, commercial
enterprises, publishers and research institutes. There is also an “other” category
for INSTITUTIONS that do not fit these categories.
getCITED launched with over
6,000 INSTITUTIONS from around the world identified in its database. It's up to
getCITED members to enrich the data by adding INSTITUTIONS and
LINKS to
IDENTITIES and
PUBLICATIONS in the database.
getCITED continually generates STATISTICS
on all linked INSTITUTIONS. Some are displayed in the
institution's identity record. Statistics on INSTITUTIONS may also be included in getCITED's
reports section, which is currently under development.
Members can also create LINKS to
departments within an INSTITUTION. This allows you to conduct more precise searches for all
getCITED members linked to a certain department in one INSTITUTION, or search
across all linked physics departments, for example, in the database. As always, the richness
of search results depends on getCITED members creating LINKS
among
IDENTITIES,
PUBLICATIONS, and INSTITUTIONS.
