getCITED's AUDIT TRAIL tracks all changes made to getCITED
IDENTITIES and
PUBLICATION records, as well as
INSTITUTION and publisher records -
what kinds of changes, who made the changes, and when. Viewers need only click the last edited
LINK
to see the entire "life history" of a getCITED identity or publication.
In the AUDIT TRAIL of a getCITED member, all the changes are listed in
reverse chronological order. The bottom entry indicates when the
IDENTITY was
first added to the database. Other entries show changes made to personal
information (e.g. adding missing info, change in
INSTITUTION and
LINKS added to
the identity. Deleted links are included too.
The information in the AUDIT TRAIL is quite precise; it clearly lists
who made changes, when they were made, and what exactly was changed.
The AUDIT TRAIL provides the site with accountability - all changes to database
information are transparent. It is hoped that the AUDIT TRAIL acts as a measure
to maximize the responsible use of the site.
getCITED has an optional
USER INFO
setting that allows you to be notified automatically by e-mail of changes to your
PUBLICATIONS or getCITED CV.
