Citation help/glossary/Citation UPDATED: 03/02/05 01:39 A CITATION occurs when a PUBLICATION is referenced in another publication. For example, Book A has one CITATION if it is cited in Book B. As a getCITED member, you can LINK a CITATION so that it can be displayed in getCITED CVs. CITATIONS are displayed as links, allowing you instant access to reference information about the work that cited you. getCITED also keeps STATISTICS of the number of CITATIONS linked to a PUBLICATION. You must first link a CITATION to your IDENTITY before it can be displayed in your CV and reflected in the STATISTICS. The number of CITATIONS shown in the statistics of a PARENT publication indicates the number of all linked citations to the parent only, and not to linked CITATIONS to child PUBLICATIONS of the parent. |
