Jo has been the Sports Psychology Lecturer at the University of Winchester since September 1998. Her first degree was in Sports Science and History (at Roehampton Institute), and this was followed by an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology (at Exeter University, where she also lectured part-time). She has completed her PGCL&T in HE qualification having one of her pieces of coursework published in the JoHLSTE and is a member of the ILT. She is a full member of BASES and has recently become accredited as a professional member. She is currently doing consultancy work within youth football and professional rugby. Her research interests generally operate within the qualitative paradigm and have included examining the impact of career ending injury upon professional sportspeople. More recently she has researched issues of self-esteem and body image within female 10K runners and has presented in this area at the XIth European Congress of Sport Psychology. Journal articles in each of the aforementioned areas are currently under review. At the University she teaches modules on The Psychology of Sport Participation; Contemporary Issues in Sport; Applied Sport Psychology; Critical Dimensions of Training; The Psychology of Injury and Psychological Assessment |
