DESCRIPTION:

Consulting and Research within the Logistics Systems Department is focussed on cooperative systems in and between logistics and production, solutions for regions and hubs as well as business concepts for enterprises. These topics also integrate an e-business orientated management of supply chains in relationship to partially conflicting objectives of business operations and transportation. Logistics research in mobility and elaboration of tools for the development and evaluation of an added value orientated system integration of intermodal transport already pick up todays major design options for the realization of sustainable economics. The demand of the ambitious logistics market is answered by the Logistics Systems team in providing analysis, concepts, evaluation tools, design of tenders and products, as well as moderation of business and transport innovations plus coaching their realization in practise. These activities are allocated to the following project clusters: * Intermodality o Design of transport corridors o Multimodal supply chains o Network and distribution logistics * Knowledge management o Elektronic market places o E-business and e-logistics o Business process management * Regional logistics o Freight villages o City logistics o Mobility concepts * Sustainable systems in production and logistics o Reverse logistics o Combination of supply and disposal o Evaluation tools for sustainable solutions
