Lee Family Digital Archive

DESCRIPTION:

The Lee Family Digital Archive (LFDA) is an online repository of the collected papers of the Lee Family of Virginia. When complete, the LFDA will consist of a comprehensive annotated edition of all the known papers of the immigrant founder Richard Lee (c.1602–1663/4) and his lines of offspring (7–8 generations). This rich documentary legacy, spanning roughly the first three centuries of American history (from c.1640 to c.1920), is offered to the public free of charge for research and teaching purposes. Initial support for the LFDA is provided by the generosity of the Lee-Jackson Educational Foundation and the Society of Lees of Virginia.
