DESCRIPTION:
The Department of the Classics at Harvard University has long been at the forefront of graduate and undergraduate education in Classics, offering both general instruction and specialized training in Greek and Latin language, literature and culture, Medieval Latin, and Byzantine and Modern Greek. The Department, internationally renowned, represents a broad variety of fields and approaches. Several members of the faculty have joint appointments with other departments, including Comparative Literature, History, History of Art and Architecture, Linguistics, and Philosophy.
