DESCRIPTION:
Institute which offers classes in British and North-American History, covering the period between 1492 and the present. Germany's only institution of this kind with 420 students (June 2004). The department offers curricula leading to a B.A. (starting 2005), an M.A., the "Staatsexamen" for high-school teachers and a Ph.D. programme.
