DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has over 800 undergraduate students and over 250 graduate students in programs leading to the following degrees:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Engineering Physics, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering - Software Option, Master of Engineering (MEng), Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. In co-operation with the Faculty of Business, the joint Master of Business Administration/Master of Engineering (MBA/MEng) is also offered.
Currently, the Department has over 80 staff including 43 faculty members representing a broad range of research interests and expertise in areas such as communications, electro-optics, computational intelligence, software metrics, electromagnetics, power, controls, robotics, lasers, plasmas, thin films, sensors, electronics and VLSI design. There are excellent departmental research and workshop facilities with technical back-up and computer hardware and software expertise.
