NAME POSITION EXPERTISE PUBS CTNS
Williamson, Deanna L. Professor Social, economic, and political determinants of health with a specific focus on the relationships between policy and the health of impoverished individuals, families, and communities. Some of her research has included investigations of the impact of health care and social assistance policies on the health behaviours and health of people living in poor families; whether the relationship between health behaviours and health is dependent on income adequacy; and the role of the health sector in addressing poverty. Dr. Williamson is currently working with an interdisciplinary group of researchers interested in the influences of welfare-to-work policies on the health and well-being of families and their members, with a specific focus on their impact on pre-school children's health and development.
