Ben-Gurion University of the Negev


DESCRIPTION:

The Unit of English as a Foreign Language offers courses in reading comprehension to students of all faculties and programs at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. The purpose of these courses is to prepare students to read academic texts during their university studies. Students are placed into various levels of English on the basis of the nationwide psychometric examination. Students who place into pre-academic courses (basic levels) study together. Students who place into academic courses (intermediate and advanced levels) are divided according to faculty and/or department. At the academic level, students of science and technology are grouped together, as are students of humanities and social sciences. Special courses are offered at the intermediate and advanced levels for Rekanati students (nursing, physiotherapy, etc.) and at the advanced level for students of biology and medicine.
